Comments:	super helpful, very VERY fair. if you do the hw, you get credit for it, regardless of whether you do it right or wrong. its a lot easier to learn concepts when you dont have to worry that the mistakes you make as you learn will affect your grade. totally understanding and always around to help.

Comments:	Easily the best all around teacher in ME. I've had him for 311 312 and 322. In 322 he came in after a month when Kobayashi decided to take a trip to Porgugal or something, and ended up reteaching everything Kobayashi did and it made 1000 times more sense. If he gives you the option of grading a project or taking a midterm GRADE THE PROJECT!!! The midterms are at night, usually on fridays, and take upwards of 3 hours. The class average is usually around 64, but everyone's grades are higher due to homework and projects.

Comments:	We are just about to start the semester but from what I've seen so far he is a very understanding Professor. Just try hard, work hard and you'll be ok he says. And my gut feelings tells me that he is right. He is an excellent communicator that bridges the gap from a difficult subject to understanding thru hard work and dedication. Don't take advantage of his allowance because these teachers are very rare. It can be difficult or easy its up to you, Professor Chao is there to simply guide you to reach a greater potential.

Comments:	I had him last semester for ME312. He was wonderful and one of the best professor in ME. I had another professor for ME311 and I was totally lost in 311. However He reteacher every in the beginning of the semester. Someone might think that is a waste of time but I ended up relearned everything and made 10^9 times more sense. Homework were hard, but who care, if you do it you get the credit. Exam were OK, usually at night so we get more time to work. The worse part was project. There were two big and one small project. Can easier use your weekends to finish. So don't wait until the last week to start. Ti get a good grad, all you need to do in class is to take good note, cuase his explain much better than the book. I have never sleep in his class. He always use example in real life to explain very difficult subject, which is very funny and really easy to understand. Helpful after class also.
